CHRIS BLACK

 

  Chris first introduction to showbuisness was back in 1974, as a 12 year old appearing in many High School productions. Such as, She Stoops to Conquer, The Legend of Scar Face and Blue Water, Adventures of Gervais Becket and the musical Oliver.

   On leaving school Chris had an assortment of jobs, before becoming joint manager of a Leeds public house, where Chris’s professional career began at the age of nineteen.

 

   As well as working with Stevie Charles, Chris too has a very successful solo career as a singer. In 1993 Chris released his first solo album, Especially for You, which was soon followed by his second album, Timeless in 1994. His third album was released in 1997 called The Chris Black Album.

   In the spring of 2002 Chris was asked to perform in Turkey, and this 2007 will be his 6 th season in Gumbet. During the spring of 2004, Chris released a compilation album titled ‘The Very Best of Chris Black’, which paved the way for Chris’s latest album, ‘Memories’ released in 2006.

Chris has worked with stars such as Lyn Paul, Su Pollard, Paul O Grady and Jane McDonald.
